The Fairy Nest is a dry point etching that was made in my studio in summer of 2026. Dry Point means that the image has been scratched onto the plate directly with a sharp needle,with no need for acids or aquatint, the scratched line is slightly rougher than an etched line which gives the print a more textured, warmer feel. This is my affectionate homage to the Cottingley Fairies,which is a fascinating story and well worth looking up if you’ve not heard about it. In my version it is a boy who happens upon the fairies.
